Skin Boosters

Skin boosters are unique injectable moisturising treatments to improve the luminosity and overall condition of your skin, whilst correcting and preventing signs of ageing. They repair and deeply hydrate, as opposed to adding volume, and have light refractive properties for increased radiance.

Hugely popular since they were launched, skin boosters are administered in the form of safe, micro injections that use a very fine needle. They are made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a soft gel-like hydrating substance which occurs naturally in the body and depletes over time.

Skin Fusion Therapy

Created by the Waterhouse Young team, Skin Fusion Therapy works to improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and visibly brighten the skin. This is achieved through a combination of gentle microneedling, along with mesotherapy using very fine, 24k gold plated needles.

Skin Boosters treatment guide & FAQs

Before we carry out any treatment, we will ask you to book an initial consultation with one of our aesthetic doctors. Here we will take a full medical history and, if required, carry out a Visia computerised skin analysis that allows us to examine magnified 3D images of your face.

We will also carry out a visual assessment of your skin and talk to you about your needs, hopes and expectations. Having gathered all this valuable information, we will then have a better understanding of which treatment you need to achieve the best outcome.

It may be that you come to us with a specific treatment in mind however, if on assessment, we feel an alternative might be more appropriate then we’ll let you know. Whatever the case, we will very much consider your individual needs and give you an honest assessment, including realistic expectations of the outcomes of your treatment.

Initially we’ll apply a topical anaesthetic cream for 20-30 minutes to ensure the treatment is comfortable. Micro amounts of product are injected using a very fine needle into a number of injection sites. We often target whole areas such as the face, neck, hands or decollete working with great care and precision. The treatment itself can take up to 45 minutes.

The number of treatments you require depends on the specific skin booster being used – each booster has its own protocol – and the condition of your skin. The doctor will discuss what will give you the optimum result. For instance, one treatment may be sufficient, or several weekly treatments may be recommended.

After your initial treatment(s), you may opt to have a maintenance skin booster treatment in a few months’ time to maintain your results. With Profhilo, for example, the majority of people have two treatments spaced a month apart and then, to maintain the effects, a single top up treatment in 3 months’ time.

Skin boosters are ideal for ageing, uneven, dull or dehydrated skin, or any complexions in need of a general boost. Common treatment areas include the face, neck, décolletage and hands. These relatively new treatments were hotly anticipated as the first ‘injectable moisturisers’, delivering overall skin rejuvenation and hydration.

Made from a different form of hyaluronic acid, they disperse evenly in the area of injected skin, instantly enhancing hydration and radiance; and, in the case of Profhilo, stimulating deep skin remodelling. Previously, you may have had anti-wrinkle injections (such as Botox) to soften forehead lines and crow’s feet and, whilst these temporarily relax muscle movement in the area and soften lines, the actual lines may still be present.

Skin boosters, conversely, administer micro droplets of product evenly all over your face, smoothing lines as they simultaneously hydrate, plump, lift and rejuvenate skin. Their light refractive properties also create a more even complexion and, if your skin is dehydrated, the hyaluronic acid will help it to retain water, resulting in a dewy and radiant appearance.

As a topical anaesthetic cream is applied, you will barely feel the injections being administered.

Treatment will take from 20 to 75 minutes, depending on which treatment you are having, whether numbing cream is required and how many places we need to inject.

We will be able to give you a better idea following your initial consultation with us.

A single treatment costs from around £500 – price varies slightly according to which skin booster you need.
