PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy treatments promotes healing of the skin by using a patient’s own blood plasma to stimulate cells and regenerate the skin’s connective tissue. This aids the production of collagen and elastin which improves the overall plumpness, quality and texture of the skin, in turn softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Harness the body’s natural defences

After a small volume of blood is taken to isolate growth factors, PRP then defines a high concentration of blood platelets in a small volume of the plasma. From here, one of our aesthetic doctors will inject the PRP into the skin or hair, where it is needed.

PRP treatment guide & FAQs

Before we carry out any treatment, we will ask you to book an initial consultation with one of our aesthetic doctors. Here we will take a full medical history and, if required, carry out a Visia computerised skin analysis that allows us to examine magnified 3D images of your face.

We will also carry out a visual assessment of your skin and talk to you about your needs, hopes and expectations. Having gathered all this valuable information, we will then have a better understanding of which treatment you need to achieve the best outcome.

It may be that you come to us with a specific treatment in mind however, if on assessment, we feel an alternative might be more appropriate then we’ll let you know. Whatever the case, we will very much consider your individual needs and give you an honest assessment, including realistic expectations of the outcomes of your treatment.

PRP is mainly used for full face rejuvenation or to stimulate hair growth. It aids the production of collagen and elastin which improves the overall quality and texture of your skin and in the case of hair thinning, can stimulate its growth.

A sample of your blood is taken before being spun in our centrifuge to separate the plasma from the red blood cells. Once we have cleansed and prepared the skin, we will inject the platelet-rich plasma using a ‘mesogun’ for an even and comfortable distribution.

The ‘mesogun’ enables us to select the depth of needle, amount of product and speed in which to inject and is powered by pneumatic pressure generated by an air compressor to relieve the discomfort of the needle insertion. Your skin will be a little red after treatment and we would advise you not to apply any make-up for 24 hours post treatment.

PRP involves multiple injections but, by using the ‘mesogun’ with its very fine needle, sensations are minimal.

We generally allow 60 minutes for a PRP treatment so that nothing is rushed and you feel looked after.

A single treatment at our skin clinic in London costs £600 and a course of three is £1500.
