Not all peels are created equal so we were delighted to discover the revolutionary Perfect Peel. Its clever blend of anti-ageing ingredients work together to leave your skin looking clearer, healthier and rejuvenated in just one week, and skin continues to improve for a further four to six weeks.
The Perfect Peel is the first treatment of its kind to include the ultimate in antioxidants, glutathione: this potent peptide deeply penetrates the skin at cellular level to clear free radicals and toxins, prevent premature ageing, lighten pigmentation and reduce scarring. Other acids in the blend have an anti-ageing effect – TCA, phenol and retinoic acid reduce lines and wrinkles and tackle pigmentation issues; Kojic acid also lightens skin and boosts collagen and elastin production – whilst salicylic acid exfoliates and reduces inflammation. We also have boosters for acne and pigmentation.
Once this powerful cocktail – along with its vitamins and minerals – gets to work, you’ll be amazed by your brighter and firmer skin with its clearer tone and texture.
Treatment Guide & FAQs
What happens first?
Before we carry out any treatment, we will ask you to book an initial consultation with our aesthetic doctor. During this consultation, we’ll take a full medical history and carry out the latest Visia computerised skin analysis to take magnified 3D images of your face.
We’ll also carry out a visual assessment of your skin and talk to you about your needs, hopes and expectations. We’ll find out a bit more about lifestyle factors that might not only affect your skin, but also what type of treatment would be most suitable. Having gathered all this valuable information, we’ll create a bespoke treatment plan that is entirely focused on you as an individual.
Will you suggest other treatments?
It may be that you come to us thinking you need one type of treatment but that we are able to suggest a more suitable alternative. Whatever the case, we will very much consider your individual needs and give you an honest assessment, including realistic expectations of the outcomes of your treatment.
Would a Perfect Peel be right for me?
A Perfect Peel is a medium-depth skin peel which repairs and restores damaged skin. One of the many benefits of a Perfect Peel is that it is suitable for all skin types, including darker skin. It is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have an allergy to aspirin. If you are taking Roaccutane, you are advised to stop the medication three to six months before this peel to achieve desired results.
What can a Perfect peel be used to treat?
The Perfect Peel can be used to improve the tone, texture and clarity of your skin. We typically use Perfect Peels to reduce or remove hyperpigmentation (including melasma), age spots, acne and acne scars, to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and to reduce pores. The peel stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, giving a firmer and more youthful-looking skin after just one treatment. As well as delivering amazing results as a facial peel, it can also be used to remove hyperpigmentation from the hands and chest, and to eliminate wrinkles on the décolletage. Perfect Peels also work well in conjunction with injectable treatments, and so may be used as part of a wider treatment plan.
What happens during a treatment?
We begin the treatment by cleansing your skin before applying the Perfect Peel topically. You may feel a very slight stinging or tingling although this subsides after a few seconds. Once the Perfect Peel solution has been applied, your skin will be numb. It will take us between 30 minutes for the entire treatment and then you will need to leave the peel on your skin for at least six hours after your appointment. We will give you products and clear aftercare instructions.
Will it hurt?
Perfect Peels are non-invasive treatments which are virtually pain-free. You may experience a slight stinging or tingling sensation when the peel is first applied but it will then numb your skin, so the feeling swiftly subsides.
How long will my Perfect Peel treatment take?
A Perfect Peel appointment (including time to cleanse your skin before the treatment begins) takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
When should I see results from my treatment?
Immediately after your Perfect Peel, your skin may look slightly tanned or red, but this should settle down. You may also notice that your skin feels tighter and any pigmented areas appear slightly darker but this is fine – they’re just signs that the peel is working. On day three, your skin will start to peel – usually around the mouth area first – and continue for the next three to four days. It’s important not to pick at or try to peel the skin off as this can cause scarring or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation – we will give you moisturiser to apply to hydrate your skin and reduce the visibility of peeling. By day six or seven, you will be able to see the stunning results of your peel – your skin will look firmer, clearer and have a healthy, youthful glow. You will continue to see improvements in your skin quality for the next four to six weeks.
How many Perfect Peels will I need?
After just one treatment, our patients notice that their skin looks significantly repaired, smoother and glowing, even reporting an improvement in the appearance of sun damage and acne. You might want to consider booking a Perfect Peel three to four times a year to continue the improvements and maintain clearer, firmer skin. Follow-up treatments need to be at least a month apart. For melasma, acne and scarring – dependent on the severity – you will need a course of three to four treatments every four weeks for optimal results (and, likewise, you can book further peels later to maintain the effects).
How long will the results last?
You can prolong the outstanding results from your Perfect Peel by following a good skincare regimen, which includes protecting your skin from sun exposure. We will advise you on how best to protect your skin at your appointment. Two to three treatments per year will help maintain healthy, clearer and rejuvenated skin.
Is a Perfect Peel safe?
A Perfect Peel has very few of the hazards and complications that are often associated with other skin peels. You may experience some mild redness immediately after your treatment and skin sensitivity can last for up to six or seven days during the peeling process while your skin works to replenish its pH level.
How much does it cost
Prices vary depending on the area(s) to be treated but we will discuss treatment options and a proposed treatment plan during your initial consultation, including a full breakdown of the costs.
