Hydrafacial treatment guide & FAQs

Before we carry out any treatment, we will ask you to book an initial consultation with one of our aesthetic doctors. Here we will take a full medical history and, if required, carry out a Visia computerised skin analysis that allows us to examine magnified 3D images of your face.

We will also carry out a visual assessment of your skin and talk to you about your needs, hopes and expectations. Having gathered all this valuable information, we will then create a bespoke treatment plan that is entirely focussed on you as an individual.

It may be that you come to us with a specific treatment in mind however, if on assessment, we feel an alternative might be more appropriate then we’ll let you know. Whatever the case, we will very much consider your individual needs and give you an honest assessment, including realistic expectations of the outcomes of your treatment.

A HydraFacial is ideal for treating fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation and oily and acne-prone skin (including to improve active acne), as well as rejuvenating dull skin and improving general skin health / skin concerns.

Our HydraFacial treatment is one of our most popular skin treatments. At WY, we have been rated as the best HydraFacial in London and do more HydraFacial treatments than any other facial rejuvenating treatment.

It is a favourite among many of our practitioners, as we are able to alter protocol to treat your skin on that day. There are various serums we use throughout the process and the ability to change what we use makes it a truly bespoke treatment.

We bought our first HydraFacial machine in 2012, and the second just a couple of years later. To this day we have never found a device that rivals its all-in-one treatment capabilities.

During a HydraFacial treatment, we use a series of special tools, called HydroPeel tips, to remove dead skin cells and impurities in the skin, while infusing it with cleansing, hydrating, and moisturising serums. Each HydroPeel tip has multiple edges that exfoliate the skin. The tip is designed to create a vortex effect which easily dislodges and removes impurities in the skin, while simultaneously treating it with hydrating serums and antioxidants.

We begin the HydraFacial treatment with a deep cleanse and gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and reveal the healthy new skin beneath. A painless vacuum extraction removes impurities from your pores. We can also use a mild glycolic and salicylic acid skin peel, depending on your skin condition, but we will discuss this with you in advance if we feel this should be part of your treatment plan.

The next stage is hydration – we infuse the skin with antioxidants and hyaluronic acid (a natural substance found in the body) to hydrate, nourish and protect it. Finally, we will shine infrared LED light on to your skin to aid circulation, reduce redness and irritation, and to stimulate collagen production. For patients with congested skin, active acne or who are acne-prone, we use blue LED light therapy to help fight bacteria.

Not at all. The HydraFacial differs from traditional facials in that it is medical grade and clinically proven. This means it offers instant and visible results after just one treatment, while remaining relaxing and enjoyable.

Since this is a mechanical treatment, it is fast and efficient – a single HydraFacial at our London clinic typically takes approximately 45 minutes.

Immediately after treatment you will have healthy looking skin that is bright, hydrated and rejuvenated. If you have any redness this will go within 5-10 minutes. If you need to apply make-up immediately you can, however, after such an effective and nourishing treatment, it is nice to see the results.

his all depends on you, your skin type and skin tone. In an ideal world we are trying to achieve optimal skin health and, to do this, we would recommend a six step treatment over a six week period. Once we have optimised this we recommend monthly treatments to maintain the results. However, not everyone can commit to this treatment plan and will have a HydraFacial when necessary.

Since our HydraFacial treatment in London is so popular, we have taken the time to combine it with other treatments to maximise results. There is not an exhaustive list and we are always willing to create new treatments for what you might need so please feel free to pass any suggestions our way and we will see what we can do for you.

HydraFacial treatment combinations include the HydraPresso which is where you relax in a mechanical massage suit knowing that you are having full body lymphatic drainage at the same time as your HydraFacial. The gentle relaxing massage drains the lymph nodes to remove toxins and promote circulation. To see our current list please click here.

There are no hidden costs with us at WY. We will use as many of the serums needed to give you the best result during your treatment. Some other clinics will have a basic price for the HydraFacial and will then have various add ons such as an acid skin peel, pigment reducing serum or red light.

We do not want you to have to choose based on finances and therefore possibly not have the best treatment, so we have an all-inclusive fee.

A single Hydrafacial at our London clinic costs £250 and includes all serums and steps of the procedure. We also offer a course of six treatments for the price of five.
