The HydraFacial is a non-invasive skin resurfacing and rejuvenating treatment which combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection. This treatment is ideal for treating fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and oily and acne-prone skin, as well as general rejuvenation of the skin. Soothing and moisturising, the HydraFacial gives instant results and leaves you with hydrated skin and a more youthful appearance with no aftercare needed.
As one of our most popular treatments, we also offer HydraFacial combinations which combine the HydraFacial with other treatments to maximise results.
Hydrafacial Treatment Guide & FAQs
What happens first?
Before we carry out any treatment, we will ask you to book an initial consultation with our aesthetic doctor. During this consultation, we’ll take a full medical history and carry out the latest Visia computerised skin analysis to take magnified 3D images of your face.
We’ll also carry out a visual assessment of your skin and talk to you about your needs, hopes and expectations and whether you have any specific skin concerns. We’ll find out a bit more about lifestyle factors that might not only affect your skin, but also what type of treatment would be most suitable. Having gathered all this valuable information, we’ll create a bespoke treatment plan that is entirely focused on you as an individual.
Will you suggest other treatments?
It may be that you come to us thinking you need one type of treatment but that we are able to suggest a more suitable alternative. Whatever the case, we will very much consider your individual needs and give you an honest assessment, including realistic expectations of the outcomes of your treatment.
What is the HydraFacial used to treat?
A HydraFacial is ideal for treating fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and oily and acne-prone skin (including to improve active acne), as well as rejuvenating dull skin and improving general skin health / skin concerns.
Why is the HydraFacial treatment so popular?
The HydraFacial is one of our most popular skin treatments. At WY, we have been rated as the best HydraFacial in London and do more HydraFacial treatments than any other facial rejuvenating treatment and we have two machines. We love it because as practitioners we are able to alter protocol to treat your skin on that day. There are various serums we use throughout the process and the ability to change what we use makes it a truly bespoke treatment. We bought our first HydraFacial machine in 2012 and whilst keeping our eyes out for new technology, there is nothing which rivals the HydraFacial. It’s an all-in-one treatment with visible results from day one.
What happens during a HydraFacial treatment?
During a HydraFacial treatment, we use a series of special tools, called HydroPeel tips, to remove dead skin cells and impurities in the skin, while infusing it with cleansing, hydrating, and moisturising serums. Each HydroPeel tip has multiple edges that exfoliate the skin. The tip is designed to create a vortex effect which easily dislodges and removes impurities in the skin, while simultaneously treating it with hydrating serums and antioxidants. We begin the HydraFacial treatment with a deep cleanse and gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and reveal the healthy new skin beneath. A painless vacuum extraction removes impurities from your pores. We can also use a mild glycolic and salicylic acid skin peel, depending on your skin condition, but we would discuss this with you in advance if we feel this should be part of your unique treatment plan. The next stage is hydration – we infuse the skin with antioxidants and hyaluronic acid (a natural substance found in the body) to hydrate, nourish and protect it. Finally, we will shine infrared LED light on to your skin to aid circulation, reduce redness and irritation, and to stimulate collagen production. For patients with congested skin, active acne or who are acne-prone, we use blue LED light therapy to help fight bacteria.
Will it hurt?
Not at all. From our own experience and that of patients, a HydraFacial feels like a cool paintbrush moving over your face.
How long will my HydraFacial procedure take?
Since this is a mechanical treatment, it is fast and efficient – a single HydraFacial in London at our clinic typically takes approximately 45 minutes.
How will my skin look immediately after treatment?
Immediately after treatment you’ll have healthy looking skin – bright, hydrated and rejuvenated. If you have any redness this will go within 5-10 minutes. If you need to apply make-up immediately you can, however, after such an effective and nourishing treatment, it’s nice to see the results.
How many treatments will I need?
This all depends on you and your skin type. In an ideal world we are trying to achieve optimal skin health and, to do this, we would recommend six treatments over a six week period. Once we have optimised this we recommend monthly treatments to maintain the results. However, not everyone can commit to this treatment plan and will have a HydraFacial when necessary. We are all different with varying skin types and we’ll know more once we’ve seen you to assess your skin.
What are HydraFacial Combination treatments?
Since the HydraFacial treatment is so popular we have taken the time to combine it with other treatments to maximise results. There is not an exhaustive list and we are always willing to create new treatments for what you might need so please feel free to pass any suggestions our way and we’ll see what we can do for you. HydraFacial treatment combinations include the HydraDetox which is where you relax in a mechanical massage suit knowing that you are having full body lymphatic drainage at the same time as your HydraFacial. The gentle relaxing massage drains the lymph nodes to remove toxins and promote circulation. To see our current list please click here
Are there any hidden costs?
There are no hidden costs with us at WY. We will use as many of the serums needed to give you the best result during your treatment. Some clinics will have a basic price for the HydraFacial and will then have various add ons such as an acid skin peel, pigment reducing serum or red light. We don’t want you to have to choose based on finances and therefore possibly not have the best treatment so we have an all-inclusive fee.
How much does a HydraFacial cost?
As single Hydrafacial in London at our clinic costs £250 and includes all serums and steps of the procedure. We also offer a course of six treatments for the price of five.
