Q&A with Anna
As MD you lead the WY clinic team, what is your favourite part of your role?
To be honest I love it all. I am so lucky to have a wonderful team, delightful clients and a beautifully calm space to work in. I also love that we are a small clinic so we can still maintain a personal approach that clients enjoy so much.
As people ascend the stairs into our clinic you can see them visibly relax and we take care of them from the first moment. Of course skin is our primary focus, and yet showing our clients how to look after and support both their emotional health as well as their outward appearance leads to deeply satisfying results for us. We’re moving into exciting times as we’re bringing in more wellness treatments to run alongside our aesthetics specialism, so we can offer a more inclusive service for our clients. I have really enjoyed crafting this direction with the team.
Does that mean you spend all your time in the office?
Not at all – I have been a registered nurse since 1996 and today I still love to be in the mix and helping people. I take a hands on approach so you can expect to find me carrying out treatments alongside our incredibly talented team. I have recently developed a Natural Lifting Facial using cosmetic acupuncture which I am delighted to be offering alongside our better known treatments. It’s an exciting time and I am so looking forward to supporting our skin specialisms with more mindful, self care related services.
What does ‘honest ageing’ mean to you?
Well, ageing is inevitable but for me it means embracing that process and not fighting and resisting it. Through awareness of all our options and choosing what is right for the individual we can take a more natural and still effective approach. ‘Less is more’ might be a cliche but it stands as the truth, especially when it comes to skin rejuvenation, which is our speciality. It’s also what guides our client relationships and why our clients trust us – we will help you achieve your skin goals based on what is right for you, not fads or fashion.
The aesthetic world moves quickly, what do you think is the next big trend in skin and beauty?
Without doubt it is more ‘natural’ treatments with sustainable results. We are passionate about wellness and have been responding to this need from our clients and beyond through the inclusion of some handpicked treatments. After all, how we experience life and deal with its stresses will effect our skin. We want to remind people of self care too – we intend to always go further to provide a truly careFULL approach for our clients.
Why is now the time to have a conscious approach to skin and life?
Now we have all the resources and tools we need to look as well as feel good. Millennials have got it made – if only we knew then what we know now! There is so much information available on how to live and be well today. If everyone can tailor this advice to what suits them, we will be on the way to a happier and healthier society.
What are some tweaks you have made to your wellbeing routine that has made a big difference in the last year?
Practicing what we preach! This includes taking ‘Symprove’ probiotics, dry brushing with aromatherapy body oil before showering, balancing my hormones using BHRT. This has definitely been a year of self-care investment for me. This includes taking some BHRT (Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy) to help balance and optimise my health and I’ve recently started taking Symprove live probiotics to improve my gut health. I’ve added yoga to my exercise plan and have regular massages when I need them. What I’ve realised is that I’m worth spending on and I’d much rather spend on my health & wellbeing than have a really nice handbag (although I am tempted here and there!)
What are your favourite things to do when you are not in the clinic?
Enjoying all that London has to offer, restaurants, bars, the parks. It is such a vibrant city – there is always something to do and enjoy no matter the British weather!
