When you entrust something as precious as your face to someone, you want to know that you’re in the best and safest hands. The UK’s leading cosmetic surgeon, Norman Waterhouse, has handpicked the best aesthetic team in the business to look after you.

Dermal fillers work by replenishing your body’s diminished supplies of hyaluronic acid in targeted areas. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that hydrates the skin, adding volume and definition.

In the hands of a skilled aesthetic doctor, dermal fillers can significantly reduce or even remove the appearance of the fine lines and wrinkles that are a classic giveaway of your age. They can also be used to add definition to the cheeks, lips and jawline, recreating the smooth curves associated with youth.

At Waterhouse Young, we use a variety of leading dermal fillers: Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, Emervel and Teosyal. Our clients often comment on our aesthetic doctors’ soft touch and how reassuring it is. We take a conservative, ‘less is more’ approach to dermal filler treatments to ensure that you retain a natural appearance. After their treatment, many of our clients tell us that other people have commented on how well rested and refreshed they look – the healthiest possible version of themselves. We think that’s the ultimate outcome and testament to the precision skill of our team.

What’s next?

We’ve put together a list of frequently asked questions and their answers (below and right) to help you find out more. To discuss your concerns about your skin, as well as your hopes for treatment, the first step is to book an initial consultation. You can fill out our quick and easy form or call us on 020 7486 3849 and we will be happy to help.

What are dermal fillers and how do they work?

As we grow older, our body’s natural supply of hyaluronic acid begins to deplete, which can cause our skin to lose its volume – this is because hyaluronic acid attracts water to the skin and plumps it up.

Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid and are injected into the skin to smooth out lines and wrinkles by restoring that lost volume. They can also be used to hydrate your skin to give it the firmer look associated with youth.

At Waterhouse Young, we use a variety of leading dermal fillers: Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, Emervel and Teosyal.

What happens during a treatment?

We’ll apply a small amount of anaesthetic cream to the area to reduce any sensation when the injection is given. The dermal filler also contains a local anaesthetic to minimise pain.

We use a thin needle to inject the dermal filler. Depending on the size of the area we’re treating, you may need several injections. The injections don’t take long and the treatment is over very quickly.

What can dermal fillers be used to treat?

Dermal fillers are used to smooth out lines around the nose, mouth, lips, cheeks and forehead, and can even treat wrinkly knees! They can also be used to give a non-surgical facelift by injecting small amounts around the face at various points – in fact, this is one of our trademark treatments at Waterhouse Young.

Hydrating dermal fillers are used to hydrate the skin, typically the décolletage, hands and eye area.

Will my treatment hurt?

The dermal filler contains a local anaesthetic, but to make sure you’re comfortable we’ll also apply a topical anaesthetic cream.

We want you to feel comfortable during your treatment, so if you have any questions, let us know and we’ll be happy to help. Our clients often comment on our soft touch and how pleasantly surprised they are by the level of comfort throughout the treatment.

How long will my dermal filler treatment take?

How long your treatment takes will depend on how many areas we need to treat. A typical treatment usually takes around 45-50 minutes, including the time needed for the anaesthetic cream to numb your skin.

Of course, we’ll never rush your treatment. We want you to feel relaxed, informed and in safe hands every step of the way.

How much do dermal filler treatments cost?

We will discuss your treatment options and proposed treatment plan during your initial consultation, including a full breakdown of the costs. Prices start from £300.
